Los Angeles, California, UCLA’s Master of Applied Economics (MAE) is looking for a dynamic individual to grow our industry and employer connections to create new job pathways for students.  Launched in 2016, the Master of Applied Economics (MAE) is an innovative graduate degree program aimed at empowering students with the quantitative and analytical skills necessary to solve the challenges of today’s business world. This position will play a powerful role in expanding the reach of the MAE program by building relationships with employers, alumni, industry leaders and potential partners worldwide. The Assistant Director of Marketing & Outreach will establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners including alumni, potential employers, community members, faculty, instructors, staff, and students on behalf of the MAE program. The incumbent will develop and implement strategies to increase program visibility worldwide to support employer outreach efforts, identification of potential students, and promote community/alumni engagement activities.  Candidates with a background in sales, marketing, employer relations, proven record of effectiveness in community engagement or related experiences will be especially well suited for this new opportunity. Primary duties include: (1) Develop relationships with potential domestic and international employers to connect MAE students with internships, and job opportunities post-graduation. (2) Maintain strong relationships with MAE alumni and create opportunities for graduates to remain connected to the program.
(3)  Design program outreach and marketing materials to engage employers and prospective students. (4) Work collaboratively with units across campus including Development, Career Center, Alumni Affairs, and Marketing & Communications. (5) Prepare specialized reports and updates for department and program leadership including CAO, Faculty Director and Chair. contract
