Nationwide, The Student Hourly Assistant | Marketing & Communications will be responsible for contributing to the marketing, alumni relations, and media relations efforts of the Prairie View A&M University Office of Marketing and Communications. The student hourly assistant in this position will serve as an essential staff member that contributes to a multitude of internal and external communication tools and projects Responsibilities : Assist in executing assigned University marketing campaigns. Tasks include, but are not limited to, drafting/distributing calendar listings and media alerts; compiling/qualifying media lists; collecting/copying/scanning publicity clips; assessing media value; performing research; coordinating event logistics; assisting with on-site execution; other tasks as assigned by the account manager Participate in administrative functions, as shared by all personnel, including answering phones, photography, filing and copying, staff meetings, and additional office support Manage special and media event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by the public relations staff Assist in the development of social media content across all University-approved platforms Analyze data streams to determine demographics and traffic patterns for media buys Perform other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience: Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done. Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA No prior experience necessary For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Junior or Senior student in Marketing, Communications, English or related field.
