Chicago, Illinois, Location: Illinois: Chicago Job Description: Plays an essential role in the marketing and communications department within the University of Chicago’s Professional Education group and is primarily responsible for entering and maintaining website content architecture, SEO strategy, and digital media presence. Works with internal and external partners to understand association and user needs, research and analyze website analytics, apply that knowledge to improvements to the content marketing strategy across multiple channels. Daily management of the ProEd website content, imagery, including use of content management system. Identifies opportunities, trends, and themes to develop new or repurpose digital content for use in other mediums, including social media, email, and enrollment management assets. Ensures all website content is compliant with WCAG accessibility guidelines. Monitors, edits, updates and develops new solutions for website content to ensure accuracy and streamline the user experience under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications and Associate Director of UX. Provides input and digital expertise to all campaign development and other applicable MarCom projects. Keeps website content refreshed and up-to-date based on current organization priorities and events. Monitors programmatic digital content efforts to ensure compliance, in collaboration with the Mar/Com team. Serves as a project leader, in close collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, to manage the development and distribution of new content across digital channels, such as website, social media, and email campaigns into formats compliant with UCPE brand standards. Assists in identifying and implementing innovative digital marketing strategies that further the Unitâ™s mission and brand recognition. Reviews and assists with creative assets, marketing copy, proofs, etc. Plans and oversees execution of SEO for the ProEd website by recommending changes to website architecture, content, linking, marketing landing pages, WCAG accessibility guidelines and other techniques to improve SEO positions for target keywords under the guidance of the Associate Director of UX. Works with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content strategy and creation and assist in writing and editing content for digital collateral as needed. Aligns social distribution and SEO efforts by working closely with the team managing social media channels. Leads and works with key stakeholders on an annual content/SEO audit of the website, including editorial content in partnership with the marketing leads. Assists with training staff on SEO best practices. Stays current with SEO industry trends and algorithm changes. Establishes standards and processes for the website, under the guidance of the Associate Director of UX, for items such as UX, audience engagement, key conversion metrics, SEO, and following WCAG accessibility guidelines. Analyzes and reports on trends, user experience, and website analytics using Google Analytics and other tracking tools. Actively monitors website in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to identify bugs/defects, outdated content, broken links, etc., and working with the larger team to identify and address. Identifies trends for website needs and expectations, and communicates those to the Marketing and Enrollment teams. May assist managing relationships with external sales agencies. Monitors, analyzes, and reports on sales and circulation activity. Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures. Conducts market research, analyzes results and develops marketing strategies based on findings. May participate in developing new products and services, and determining new markets. May train the work of lower level marketing staff. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelorâ™s degree in communications, advertising, marketing, business administration, or related field. Experience: Advertising agency and/or higher education marketing experience. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Learn new marketing and project management tools.
