Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Manager, Innovation Communications, Marketing and Events will be responsible for the development, strategic planning, and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives, maintenance of the USC Stevens website, writing, editing and producing of USC Stevens communications, including a quarterly newsletter, brochures, and support for the marketing of USC technologies.  The incumbent will also be tasked with Stevensâ?? strategic communication efforts, and the development of other marketing materials. This person will be responsible for the planning and execution of all USC Stevens events, and provide support for various USC Stevens programs. The USC Stevens Center for Innovation is a university-wide resource for USC innovators in the Office of the Provost. Designed to harness and advance the creative thinking and breakthrough research at USC for societal impact beyond traditional academic means, we focus on the licensing of technologies, expanding industry collaborations, and supporting start-ups  ( ). USC Stevens is unique as it is partially endowed by a generous donation from USC Trustee and Sequoia Capital partner Mark Stevens.  The Center reports to the Vice President of Research, and has the full support of the USC Provost. Responsibilities include: Oversee the development and execution of marketing and communication campaigns, including support for the marketing of USC technologies; Continue to refine USC Stevens website, which is an online resource for faculty, staff, corporate collaborators and potential licensees; Assist in the planning and management of USC Stevensâ?? programs for both the University community and/or the general public; Plan and execute all USC Stevens events; Develop, produce and distribute publications and other promotional materials for USC Stevens marketing and public relations purposes; and Supervise a Marketing Coordinator and possible student staff. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Masterâ??s Degree (MBA) with a Bachelorâ??s in a Life Sciences or Science-related Major Experience: 7 years Preferred Field of Expertise Previous experience in a similar role at a university technology transfer office Understanding of the technology transfer lifecycle and technology marketing Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Experience running marketing and communication programs related to innovation and entrepreneurship Previous experience in building and maintaining websites Possess a keen eye to independently create superb marketing collateral Experience in event planning and management Prior supervisory experience Additional Job Description Additional Job Description USC Stevens Center for Innovation: USC Stevens Center for Innovation Minimum Education:Bachelor’s DegreeCombined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience:5 Years Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise:Thorough knowledge of marketing and management.
