Minneapolis, Minnesota, The Marketing Client Acquisition and Retention Senior Director will be responsible for evolving the Ameriprise Financial marketing strategy and plan to increase client acquisition and retention through the firm and field organization. The role owns our client retention strategy, marketing field program engagement with business partners, advisor marketing strategy, and department level marketing reporting. This role will play a pivotal role in creating the advisor marketing strategy partnering with marketing program owners, marketing field engagement and field leaders to promote organic growth. Responsibilities The Marketing Client Acquisition and Retention Senior Director will lead our core marketing strategy for delivering marketing programs to advisors and staff on a broad scale. The individual will drive organic growth strategies specifically tied to client retention and marketing programs for initiatives connected to the firm focus areas of Net Client Acquisition and the Ameriprise Client Experience. This senior director will partner with program owners, marketing field engagement, advisor practices and communication leaders. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop marketing strategy for advisor practices across multiple business lines within Marketing, the Field and Service Delivery in partnership with senior corporate leadership and field leaders to increase client acquisition & retention metrics. Co-lead field execution of marketing and practice management initiatives through available channels outside of coaching relationships. Lead cross functional teams that design videos, guides, best practices and supporting resources to drive behavior change and increased growth metrics across advisors and staff. Responsible for alignment on strategy and leading execution across field leadership, field training & implementation, and corporate communications. Responsible for alignment on strategy and execution tied to our client retention strategy, across field and internal leadership. Includes partnering with leaders tied to client retention, marketing field engagement and other executive level messaging. Lead internal teams to enhance existing technology to increase practice efficiencies and practice growth metrics. Responsible for sales generated data-driven marketing strategies, capabilities, and reporting in partnership with the Data and Analytics team. Provide effective people leadership through effective coaching, feedback and sound performance management practices. Act as champion for the team and intervene on matters that create roadblocks to individual or organizational success. Set department initiatives and aligns and sets individual performance goals. Serve as subject matter expert and senior leader representative across all areas of marketing for internal leaders, cross organizational projects, and potential EAR candidates. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent Ability to develop and deliver training content in a number of different formats including: conference breakouts, webinars, advisor panels, workshops, eLearning, etc. Proven ability to build and leverage relationships across organizational boundaries. Proven ability to appropriately challenge strategic thinking, and can influence change in a matrix organization at all levels. Deep knowledge set in digital marketing programs: social media, paid & organic search, website design, email marketing, etc. Strong knowledge of digital marketing programs is required: social media, paid & organic search, email marketing, website design, etc. Strong leadership and organizational skills with proven record of delivery. Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects concurrently. Superior written and verbal communications skills with proven success delivering strategic and tactical presentation to senior leadership and financial advisors. Ability to drive major initiatives from research, to development, through execution. Well versed in competitive landscape.
