Athens, Ohio, Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President for University Marketing and Communications, Ohio University’s Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing will provide strategic leadership to distributed marketing and communications resources across the institution to inspire brand alignment internally with the ultimate goal of optimizing the university’s external awareness and reputation. Leading a team of 9 Marketing and Communications Managers embedded in Ohio University’s academic colleges, the Senior Director will build a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and information sharing that elevates the marketing and communication function and work product. The Senior Director will work collaboratively with embedded marketing and communications managers to understand unit-specific goals, to develop measurable strategies to meet those goals, and to work with talented creative professionals within University Marketing and Communications to bring those strategies to life. In addition, they will ensure messaging strategy for program and unit-level marketing programs support the institution-wide brand. Responsibilities include: · Serve as a senior-level marketing and communications consultant to academic colleges, including regularly meeting with Deans to ensure a clear understanding of their priorities, advise on marketing and communications strategies, and report results from campaigns. · Work with college managers to develop marketing plans and strategies that meet unit goals and support the University’s Integrated Communications and Marketing Plan and institutional brand strategy. · Serve as an advocate within UCM for embedded college managers, ensuring that institutional strategies do not compete or conflict with the goals and efforts of the academic colleges. · Partner closely with enrollment marketing leadership to ensure academic college marketing and communications strategies align well with recruitment initiatives and prospective student communication plans. · Lead the development of self-service resources that bolster the use of the Ohio University brand across the university. · Plan, convene and lead meetings with UCM’s Deans Advisory Council. Minimum Qualifications: · Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant marketing and/or communications experience, including developing complex marketing strategies to bolster brand reputation and support student / customer acquisition. · Minimum of three (3) years of management experience leading marketing and/or communication teams. · Demonstrated experience effectively planning strategies to reach communications and marketing goals. · Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent professional relationships in a diverse workplace across all levels of the organization, including experience presenting ideas at the leadership level. · At least a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, management or related discipline.
