We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to work remotely with some in person attendance at select events, usually in the Santa Barbara area, but in other locations as well as needed. Summary The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in the marketing and communications strategy of Fielding Graduate University. The primary responsibility of the position is to manage the university’s social media channels and to create marketing collateral that projects the institution’s brand and supports enrollment goals through effective writing and design. The position will also assist in the setting of social media strategy for the university in all social media channels. Therefore, the position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, digital and print design, and the capacity to organize, prioritize, and handle a wide variety of responsibilities and projects accurately and consistently. The Marketing Specialist monitors and measures the efficacy of content and works with other social media and web site support staff to continuously evolve content and content strategy to drive interest and interaction to positively impact university enrollment goals. The position reports to the Director of Marketing and serves as the primary marketing backup in their absence and will serve as the primary support and social media admin for the Alumni Association. In addition, the position will work closely with several other key communication divisions at the university including Recruitment, Development, University Communications, and other university stakeholders. This position advises and trains others in how best to use digital content to advance communication and enrollment goals. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, marketing, communications, graphic arts/design or a related field. Master’s degree in related field preferred. 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or digital journalism. Experience with design and Adobe Creative Suite required.
