PRCS- Creating Community through People, Parks and Programs
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services (PRCS) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Marketing Specialist III. The Department provides a wide variety of services for the citizens of Loudoun County including youth and adult sports activities, instructional and interpretive classes, programs for senior citizens, visual and performing arts, childcare, preschool, trips, camps, educational and outreach programs for at-risk youth and individuals with disabilities, facilities planning and development, and special events. This position requires knowledge of the general principles of marketing, design, and social media. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of the department’s marketing plan to effectively advertised the services provided to the community. Excellent communication skills are needed to coordinate with external vendors and collaborate with staff on marketing needs and objectives. Additional job duties include: • Oversee marketing budget and provide analysis on marketing expenditures. • Review contracted vendor proposals • Partner with public information staff on branding and other elements of marketing plan • Provides analysis of demographic, market, and competitor data The ideal candidate will have outstanding research, writing and content creation skills, an understanding of local government and its legislative process and the ability to organize information from multiple sources. Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Valid driver’s license required
Salary Commensurate with Experience

Special Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Previous experience with municipal government agencies • Previous experience in the parks and recreation field • Previous experience managing vendor contracts
