Departmental Overview This position is with Berkeley Advanced Media Institute, housed within the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley, a school widely regarded as one of the top journalism programs in the United States. Berkeley Advanced Media Institute is the leading education and career development program specializing in digital media training for communication, journalism and new media professionals. Berkeley Advanced Media Institute provides online courses, workshops and corporate training in multimedia storytelling, filmmaking, social media, data visualization, video storytelling, photography, podcasting, and design thinking. We are known for our collaborative, innovative approach to identifying new content and dynamic ways of learning, networking and ultimately providing trans-formative experiences to the people and organizations we work with. With over 20 years of experience in multimedia training to news organizations, public institutions, corporations, and media companies, we continue to expand upon our expertise and programming in the ever-emerging digital media landscape. Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: December 29, 2021 Responsibilities Under general supervision, plans, develops and implements marketing strategies and marketing plans for Berkeley AMI. Develops and maintains editorial calendar for all media channels. Oversees WordPress website, managing content while maximizing for SEO and SEM. Drafts and/or edits copy for the website, social media, advertising, or other relevant media.This includes writing, producing, sourcing or editing text files, images, videos, audio files, and other media to accompany promotional, marketing and sales campaigns. Coordinates advertising placements and schedules, including overseeing Google AdWords. Conducts and uses basic market research and Google analytics to support and inform decision making. Oversees and manages branding identity, style, voice, colors for logos, presentation decks, graphics, document templates et cetera for external and internal constituencies. Oversees, writes and produces email marketing & newsletters, maintaining email marketing lists and identifying distribution lists for audience targeting. Required Qualifications Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices. Solid knowledge of institutional products and services. Knowledge of and/or ability to learn the campus including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure. Knowledge of digital marketing strategies. Organizational skills and skills in file creation, maintenance and management. High degree of written and interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge of video and audio production. Skilled in editing in WordPress and SEO, and SEM. Knowledgeable in social media posting for business. Experience in email marketing and list management. Education/Training: Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training Preferred Qualifications Preferred knowledge with Google Analytics and Google AdWords. Salary & Benefits This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience up to $33.00, Grade: 19.
