Davis, California, MARKETING SPEC 2 (Marketing Analyst) Department Description Job Summary Under general supervision, direct and manage the marketing and outreach efforts for the products services offered by the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program (MBP) and affiliated entities, including the NIH Mutant Mouse Resource and Research Centers (MMRRC), MMRRC-Informatics, Coordination, and Service Center (ICSC), the Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center (MMPC), the Knockout Mouse Production and Phenotyping (KOMP2) project, and others. Of these, approximately half of the time will be spent on MMRRC-ICSC activities. The MBP and these other entities are separate projects with similar marketing needs. Develop yearly marketing plans which identify target markets, opportunities and strategies for the promotion of products and services for the MBP, MMRRC-ICSC and other entities. Develop and manage social media campaigns for the MBP, MMRRC-ICSC, and other entities. Identify opportunities to leverage outreach efforts and partner with outside organizations as appropriate. Write, edit and produce marketing collateral, the MBP Annual Stakeholder Report, and quarterly advisory committee reports. Manage monthly and quarterly direct-email campaigns through Constant Contact. Track expenditures and make recommendations for future development. Oversee all logistics for scientific conferences, research fairs and special meetings. Arrange registration of personnel, evaluate and purchase display booth space and services, and arrange transportation of marketing materials and provide post event evaluations of effectiveness. Prepare and present monthly analysis and evaluation on marketing and outreach efforts. Oversee monthly internal MBP Outreach & Marketing committee and similar meetings in association with (including funded effort support from) the MMRRC, MMRRC-ICSC, KOMP2, MMPC, and other programs. Provide marketing and outreach presentations at internal meetings and national and international teleconferences. Manage and curate content, narratives, posts and campaigns across multiple social media platforms. Track and evaluate effectiveness, reach and conversion of campaigns utilizing Google Analytics across multiple websites. POSITION INFORMATION Salary Range $21.46/hr. – $43.15/hr. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Additional Minimum License/Certification: Minimum Education/Experience: BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related degree and or experience. Demonstrable experience with SEO, ideally within the biological sciences community or related field. Experience creating and implementing marketing plans and strategies, providing a wide array of marketing, communication and outreach activities in a research, scientific or healthcare setting. Writing and editorial experience to produce clear, well-organized information; experience editing copy for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Experience performing quantitative analysis to define objectives, seek appropriate information sources, formulate logical conclusions, and recognize alternatives. Experience in making transportation, space, and service arrangements for marketing materials at national and/or international meetings. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) : High social media acumen for creating campaigns, creative narratives, content marketing and visual storytelling. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional Preferred License/Certification: Preferred Education/Experience: Experience with the AP Style Guide, including AP for Social. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) : Skilled with Adobe Creative Cloud, with an emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere. Skills to identify, gather, compile, distill, and organize information from multiple sources and present in an appropriate, understandable format. Skills with computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, desktop publishing, developing digital images in electronic formats and managing several social media accounts simultaneously.
