knoxville, Tennessee, Marketing Manager JOB TITLE: Communications & Marketing Professional 2, exempt, MR 10 SUPERVISOR: Tim Price 974-4425 JOB SUMMARY: This position reports to the Director of University Printing & Mail and serves as an essential member of the UPM team. The position will develop, direct and oversee a variety of marketing, communications, business development and public relations/outreach activities designed to promote the entire portfolio of services offered by University Printing, Mail Services and Convenience Copy to the UT-Knoxville campus, UT System and other affiliated organizations. Specifically, this position will meet with department and college representatives in support of fulfilling print and mail project requests as a required service center. Oversight includes development and implementation of all marketing and promotional efforts utilizing print, digital, video, social, and other media. The position will develop plans for branding, assessment, and program/project review to ensure consistency and attention to detail. The position requires a dedicated commitment to business development and an ability to foster positive client relations to cultivate the consistent success needed to meet long term departmental goals and effectively serve the University community. Working under general direction, the position independently plans and organizes work assignments. Projects and specific tasks may be assigned by the supervisor either verbally or in writing. Works closely with campus partners to create marketing pieces and campaigns. Works with departmental committees and leaders to provide advice on their marketing needs. Ensure a cohesive voice and brand are represented. Works with UTK Office of Communications & Marketing to ensure brand message is unified and within established university guidelines. Seeks areas to cross market and partner with on campus organizations to maximize exposure and messaging. Maintains relations with internal and external customers by organizing and developing specific customer-relations programs; determining proper presence at on and off campus events that are relevant to each area. Conducts market research and analysis, and establishes data management and tracking systems to improve the organization’s marketing efforts. Develops a social media presence that is engaging, educational and reflects the UPM vision. Plans and ensures updated website information for all units as part of the comprehensive and coordinated marketing plan.
