Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, The Grosse Pointe Academy is looking for an energetic and ambitious Marketing & Events Coordinator to join us as an integral member of our small and busy team. The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing marketing and event strategies needed to hit challenging monthly targets, in line with the annual marketing plan. The primary purpose of this position is to work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to implement and execute our strategic marketing and events plans using omni-channel marketing and events to engage varied target audiences and constituent groups. 
This position is a full-time, salaried, year-round position, based on site at our administrative offices located in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. Flexibility is required to attend events, both during the day and evening, with very occasional weekend work. 
You will need to be impeccably organized with attention to detail, an excellent communicator at all levels, confident, efficient and proactive. Primary EVENTS responsibilities may include: 
The Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of event-related tasks, including planning, promotion, project management, on-site coordination and post-event reporting. These activities may include, but are not limited to: 
Providing pre, during and post event support, including set up and basic IT and AV support, materials ordering, catering, logistics, etc. 
Serving as a point of contact for on-site events, running a vast portfolio of events with varied target audiences
Working collaboratively with members of Administration, including the Head of School, Admissions and Development offices to provide marketing and event support where appropriate and requested
Manage all supporting event administration, including inquiries, online internal and external calendars, ticket management, supporting documents and procedures and feedback
Primary MARKETING responsibilities may include:
The Marketing and Events Coordinator will be tasked with marketing support, primarily related to promotional events that support the organization’s overall brand awareness, admission, enrollment, retention, development efforts and special events. These activities may include, but are not limited to:
Creating, within brand standards and under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, event collateral, including both print and digital materials.
Drafting, within brand standards and under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, social media and website content to support overall brand awareness, admission, enrollment, retention, development efforts and special events. 
Utilizing the organization’s CRM system daily to accurately track all marketing efforts, event management and follow up. 
Stretch responsibilities may include:

Manage social media content for one or more of the organization’s brands and platforms
Maintain and create website content 
Take a greater role and responsibility in content creation and branding
Utilize your superior communications skills to design and deliver weekly and monthly e-newsletters Minimum requirements
At least three years of practical experience as an event and marketing professional.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality or similar discipline
Demonstrated proficiency in using Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator to create both print and digital pieces. 
Canva experience is preferred, but not required. 
Some photography experience would be beneficial
Experience in using online event management platforms, including ticketing and invitation creation
At least one year of experience in daily usage of a CRM software 
Experience with both Google and Microsoft suite of products.  Proficiency in both is not required, however, candidates must be proficient in at least one of the platforms.
