Riverside, California, Marketing & Communications Coordinator University of California Riverside Job Number: 26709784 Full/Part Time: Full Time Schedule: 8AM – 5PM Salary: $82,350 – $96,200 Position Information Under the direction of the director of communications for the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences (CNAS) at UC Riverside, this position will manage the day-to-day marketing, communications activities, and planning and execution of events for CNAS. This position is responsible for writing original communications content and producing print, web, visual, and digital. Electronic publications for various internal and external audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, prospective/admitted students, the UCR campus community, and the public. As an integral part of the CNAS communications team, this position will work closely with the CNAS director of communications, CNAS digital communications manager, CNAS Dean’s Office members, faculty, staff, and students across CNAS and UCR, and external campus partners. This position will also publish newsletters, design and produce marketing collateral, collect outreach and usage analytics, and assist in maintaining the CNAS website, social media, and event calendar. This position will collaborate with college and campus partners to support events. **As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Experience Experience Requirement 4 – 7 years of related experience. Required 5 year of relevant experience in marketing/advertising, public relations communications, or related fields Preferred Experience in marketing, public relations, communications, campaigns, social media, event planning, or related fields. Required Minimum Requirements Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills. Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications. Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans. Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and/or broad general audiences. Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally. Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications. Possess traits of good judgment, confidentially, and discretion in communication with colleagues and constituents. Strong skills in event planning and social media activity management. Ability to be flexible in working independently as well as collaboratively with college and university colleagues, and faculty, staff, students, and volunteers to achieve goals. Resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to problems and initiative in presenting alternatives and implementing solutions to ensure effective change. Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to eliminate or mitigate potential negative effects. Ability to work within a team, meet deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and easily adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and/or health sciences. Knowledge of digital video production and best practices including equipment management, script writing, interviewing, shooting, editing, and post-production. Ability to carry, transport, set up, and break down video/photo equipment required for shoots and other projects Demonstrates skill in making oral and written presentations through various media formats to a wide variety of audiences to provide information, instructions, or explain subjects of interest. Knowledge of digital marketing, content development, and social media management.
