The Morris University Center (MUC) Marketing Department is seeking candidates for a part-time Marketing Assistant (Program Assistant).  The Marketing Assistant assists the Marketing Specialist/Director in the daily operations of the MUC Marketing Office. The selected candidate will help to oversee student staff who fulfill work orders from internal and external clients for the purposes of graphic design, large- and small-scale print projects (posters, booklets, flyers, yard signs, window designs and flyers), social media, promotions, and additional marketing needs.  The Marketing Assistant will be help coordinate MUC building signage; special events and programs such as Catch a Cougar, Decades Dash and Scavenger Hunts; Goshen banners; as well as assist with management of digital files/inventory.  Additionally, the Marketing Assistant will support the overall operation and management of the MUC Marketing office including assist the director in the planning and execution of weekly staff meetings; deadline management for projects; scheduling meetings with clients; student employee supervision; marketing initiatives; material choices (inks, paper, displays); and management of the office in absence of the director.  Further duties and responsibilities in line with the professional scope of the position may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.  This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and will close to applicants at end of business day, 11:59 pm CST, on the posting end date.  SIUE offers an exceptional array of benefits to all full-time and part-time (50% or more) employees including medical, dental and life insurance; tuition waivers; financial savings plans; vacation and sick leave; and pension plan as part of a total compensation package to eligible employees. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: -Knowledge of generally accepted graphic design practices and skills gained through education, experience and/or training. -Prior experience in promoting events using social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Website. -Ability to create collaborative designs using Adobe software to include Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. -Ability to use diverse printing, cutting and assembling equipment, as well as large scale installation print jobs. -Prior management responsibility, working with and supervising student staff preferred. -Knowledge of digital work order systems which track and monitor jobs coming into and going out of MUC Marketing. -Experience and knowledge of planning, coordinating, and executing internal and external promotions. -Excellent time management and communication skills to be able to follow through projects with clients from start to finish.
