The College admitted its first cohort of 300 students in August 2012 and has established an enrollment target of approximately 5,000 students in the coming years. Guttman Community College is seeking to fill the position of Marketing & Communications Manager. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement & Donor Relations, this position will create and manage communications and marketing efforts for the school and support and enhance the Guttman Community College value proposition. The Marketing & Communications Manager will work with GCC leadership, development/alumni, and web development staff, as well as college-wide communications and marketing staff to support GCC???s marketing and communications goals. They will partner with the Enrollment Management leadership to develop social media strategies to increase College brand visibility that enhance enrollment. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of fostering collaborative partnerships by working with internal and external stakeholders to support and advance the school???s mission. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Implement and oversee a successful and integrated communications program and college presence using multiple mediums in a timely and consistent fashion. This may include, but not be limited to, brand guidelines, e-newsletters, news magazine, social media, e-blasts, press releases, letters to the editor, opinion pieces, yearend-reminders, annual reports, web pages, invitations, and assisting with various promotional and development materials. Oversee the facilitation of marketing collateral (e.g., short videos, commercials, etc.) that tell the Guttman story. Ensure a consistent narrative is executed to increase brand and name recognition and presence in all mediums, including coordinated marketing efforts to confirm consistency with broader college marketing and branding efforts. Work with college stakeholders to streamline and ensure marketing materials and communication meet brand standards. In consultation with campus leaders, create and manage a branding and marketing strategy for the growing enhancing the school???s visibility in print and digital mediums. Prepare, write, and edit internal and external communications, including articles for College website and special announcements. Utilize data to inform metrics and outcomes to be shared with senior leadership and campus stakeholders centering on the marketing and communication strategies. Supervise, coach, and develop Communications staff. Conduct annual performance management and set goals and targets for the unit in alignment of the strategic goals of the unit and the college. Note: Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor???s degree and six years??? related experience required. . Preferred Qualifications: Master???s degree preferred, in marketing, public relations, communications, organizational leadership, or a related field. An advanced degree in a related fieldcan be substituted for up to two years of experience. Six years of full-time professional experience in communications, constituent relations, non-profit management, marketing, branding, or related experience in a service-oriented field, preferably in a higher education environment. Master’s degree in a related field can count up to 2 years of experience. Web development and/or graphic design experience is preferred. Proficiency in user and marketing interface design, usability methodology, CMS, and browser capabilities Strong project/time management, leadership, and organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Demonstrated technical knowledge in content management systems and processes and up-to-date knowledge of digital production trends and tools Proficient in the use of Microsoft and Adobe applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated abilities in consensus building. Professional demeanor with flexibility and solid interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, respond to and manage multiple projects and demands while meeting strict deadlines. Should have the capability to see the ???big picture??? and small details of projects, with excellent follow-through. Ability to attend and help with occasional evening events required. CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Manages marketing and advertising initiatives to achieve specific marketing goals. Develops advertising programs consistent within overall marketing plans to achieve image, awareness and/or enrollment goals Implements programs in print, radio, broadcasting, mail, and electronic communications, coordinating with internal units and external service providers Actively manages and moderates electronic content and marketing tools for both College and external web sites and sources, including social networks, video portals, and listservs -Develops, tracks, and reports on both advertising costs (budgets) and results to assure goals are met; collects and analyzes data on exposure, traffic, and other metrics May supervise staff and external service providers Performs related duties as assigned.
