Manager of Communications and Marketing | Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association

Nationwide, The Manager of Communications & Marketing, working closely with the Executive Director, will create, execute, and evaluate the IWLCA’s digital communication and marketing strategy. This team member will coordinate marketing, press releases, informational and educational content, digital publications, and other content via email, website and across social media. This position will also provide regular communications to collegiate sports communications offices, non-member community coaches and corporate partners.   The ideal candidate will have strong aesthetic instincts for digital layouts and publishing, an eye for detail; a keen understanding of major social media platforms’ tools and distinct uses; experience with digital strategy, results, and analytics; and a passion for promoting women’s lacrosse. The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), a non-profit organization, is the professional organization representing college coaches in women’s lacrosse from NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA. With over 530 institutional members and more than 1,200 coaches and staff under our umbrella, we provide national leadership, advocacy, education, and recognition within the sport of women’s college lacrosse. Additionally, the IWLCA works to promote the growth and exposure of the women’s lacrosse game through educational and tournament opportunities for coaches, players, and officials of all levels.      The IWLCA is made up of both full-time staff and volunteer members who are passionate about the positive influence that women’s sports have in society and work to promote that through coaching and the game of lacrosse.  We are committed to a staff culture of inclusion, empowerment, and service to others.   We Are Looking for Someone To…  Assess the current corporate, collegiate, and athletic landscape to find ways to optimize the IWLCA brand to grow knowledge of who we are and what we do on a larger scale. Develop and execute a digital communication and marketing strategy, connecting to both short-term and long-term association goals. Design and publish an engaging association website and dynamic social media channels that are both visually appealing and provide a comprehensive experience for members and visitors. Create and execute a cohesive communication strategy for IWLCA electronic communications including, but not limited to, emails, e-newsletters, presentations, website, and social media channels. Lead marketing creation and communication of IWLCA initiatives, member milestones, and partnerships throughout the year to encourage member and community-based engagement. Collaborate with staff and strategic partners to coordinate IWLCA brand usage to ensure collateral is aligned with our marketing and communication strategy.  Maintain internal communications and marketing calendar and assist Executive Director and Director of Internal Operations and Programming with communications projects. Continuously assesses the effectiveness of our communications both within our membership and in the lacrosse community. This includes making recommendations for improvements to existing strategies and developing new ones, so we are continually evolving the way we do things.     Work Environment – Work will be done remotely except for when on site at events or meetings throughout the year. Expected Hours of Work – IWLCA hours are generally Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm. There will be occasional requirements for longer hours during the week and/or on weekends based on events and other business needs that may occur after normal hours. Knowledge of WordPress, Squarespace, or other CMS in order to maintain association website. Working knowledge of Adobe suite of programs and Microsoft Office. Story-telling creativity balanced with strategic planning restraint to make thoughtful decisions based on the IWLCA brand in an ever-changing environment. Knowledge of best practices for creating, writing, and publishing on different digital platforms (especially websites, Instagram, and Twitter) Strong communication skills with attention to both written and visual details. Ability to work well in a team environment, both remotely and in person, and handle multiple assignments with firm deadlines.  Discretion to handle sensitive and confidential matters and information.  In addition to base salary a benefits stipend and paid time off will be included
