Health Information Technology and Services (HITS) is seeking a motivated junior-level communicator to join its growing Customer Experience team. The team develops concise, creative, and engaging solutions that build awareness, support adoption, and increase customer satisfaction. Working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, we focus on effective employee communication and strategic change management initiatives. You will assist with preparing and executing communications on a range of topics pertinent to HITS employees and the greater Michigan Medicine community. Active listening, engaging writing, and creative thinking skills are highly valued in this role. You will work closely with other members of the Customer Experience team on projects in addition to writing stories, editing newsletters, developing and maintaining website content, and performing other duties as assigned. Assist colleagues and project teams with the execution of strategic change management plans and communication tactics Identify and tailor content for varying audiences Seek innovative ways to communicate effectively with customers Coordinate email campaigns, including creation, deployment, and measurement Write and edit feature articles, internal communications, web content, presentations, announcements, and talking points for both internal staff and the broader Michigan Medicine community Gather information for newsworthy stories through observation, interviews, and research Develop, track, and monitor communication measurements that are strategic, timely, and relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 0-2 years of professional experience Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a mostly remote team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to take direction and accept constructive feedback Self-motivated, flexible, and able to adapt to evolving needs Detail-orientated and organized; able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively in a fast-paced environment Understanding of basic graphic design principles and/or experience creating infographics, videos, or animation to convey complex information in ways that make it easier to understand Experience producing web content, news articles, presentations, and/or email messages Experience gathering, measuring, and evaluating data (e.g., web analytics, email campaigns) Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
