Bloomington, Indiana,, Department THE O’NEILL SCHOOL – BL SPEA (BL-SPEA-IUBLA) Department Information Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (O’Neill School) is searching for a full-time Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. The O’Neill School is a multidisciplinary, professional school within Indiana University committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service, and to addressing critical issues of public and environmental affairs. It is one of the largest U.S. public affairs schools in the nation with more than 140 full-time faculty and nearly 3,000 students on its two campuses (Bloomington and Indianapolis). The Executive Director may choose to be based at either location. Job Summary The Executive Director of Marketing and Communications develops and executes a strategic, integrated marketing plan that drives student recruitment and enrollment in academic programs, differentiates the O’Neill School from its competitors, promotes the School’s brand, and enhances its reputation as the preeminent school of its kind in the world. The primary responsibilities of the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications are to lead O’Neill School recruitment marketing efforts, including digital strategies, to increase enrollment for the School’s academic programs; to elevate the visibility of the school, specifically its quality academic programs and scholarly success, through a strategic communications plan; to provide communications and marketing counsel to school leadership; and to manage a team of communications and creative professionals that spans two campuses (Bloomington and Indianapolis) to achieve the schools marketing and communications goals. The Executive Director reports to the Dean of the O’Neill School. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a closely related field and seven years of marketing experience. Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies, including the use of Salesforce for marketing and customer relationship management (CRM). Demonstrated success in managing an office staff. Experience in developing marketing and communications materials. Ability to work in a fast-paced and resource lean environment. Ability to design and oversee marketing research studies. Solid data analysis skills and ability to synthesize and draw actionable conclusions from data. Excellent ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Proven leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Marketing experience in a leadership role, supervising a team. Work Location Bloomington and Indianapolis, Indiana IUB and IUPUI Campuses May choose to be based at either location.
