Plantersville, Texas, The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all marketing, advertising, promotion, and integrated marketing communications for the company. Working with senior management, the Director provides strategic leadership in the development, integration and execution of short term and long-term goals targeted toward existing and new markets, internal and external communications, marketing services, creative services, media relations, special events, social media communications, public relations, and branding. The Director oversees all sales and marketing staff and is responsible for setting and complying with yearly and long-term budgets. Role and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
 

Develop, update and execute a comprehensive, multi-year marketing and communications strategy aimed at raising TRF’s brand visibility. Provide leadership and vision to create a strategic plan for all marketing, media relations, publications, events and outreach
Plan and execute advertising campaigns across multiple platforms- television, radio, print, social media, digital, email marketing, experiential events, etc.
Develop and execute social media marketing and promotional campaigns over multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, You Tube) with a combined following of over 300,000 people
Recruit and contract corporate event sponsors
Supervise sales and marketing staff consisting of full-time, part-time, and seasonal interns
Work with other departments to develop and implement promotional strategies for festival experiences
Develop and execute crisis communication strategies when necessary
Oversee all media and VIP guest visits, interviews, and promotions
Create and execute promotional activations and events

 
Job Requirements:
 

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the festivals or events market.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or advertising
Strong ability to interpret data for more informed and improved marketing decisions
Must possess strong writing and public speaking skills
Demonstrated expertise in advertising, marketing, promotion, supervision of office staff and web marketing
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
Ability to plan and implement effective, integrated marketing, communications, and advertising strategies
Demonstrated success as a team leader and project coordinator
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a student-centered, team-oriented environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with media and social media monitoring and publishing platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meltwater, Cision, etc.)
Working schedule: Offseason (M-F 8am-5pm) In-season (Variable)
Occasional weekends and travel
