Job Description: Job Summary The Director of Athletic Marketing & Fan Experience is responsible for the creation and execution of marketing strategies, promotional plans and advertising campaigns with the goal of revenue generation, fan engagement and community exposure for Holy Cross’ 27 Division I programs. Major Areas of Responsibility Develop, design, execute and assess strategic marketing plans with goal of increasing revenue generation, fan engagement and community exposure, with particular focus on revenue-generating sports of football, basketball (men’s and women’s) and ice hockey (men’s and women’s). Work as an integral member of the external operation’s revenue generation team, responsible for the strategy and execution of achieving annual departmental revenue goals and positioning Holy Cross Athletics for success within a competitive marketplace. This includes contributing to the acquisition and retention of ticket sales (season, single game and groups) in conjunction with the ticket office staff and content & strategy team. Direct and oversee ticket sales campaigns for our four ticketed sports of Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Ice Hockey including: season tickets, mini plans, subscriptions, group and individual game sales. Direct and advance group sales and group experiences packages through direct outreach and advertising. Develop and execute in-game promotions and events to create an exciting atmosphere that enhances the fan experience and Holy Cross’ competitive advantage. Act as primary marketing contact for coaches and sport administrators, working closely with each on marketing plans and community initiatives. Conceptualize, schedule and strategically implement print, digital and radio advertising campaigns. Collaborate with various internal and external constituents, including student government, student involvement and other student organizations to increase student attendance and support. Establish and activate short- and long-term marking goals and objectives, and consistently evaluate effectiveness to implement change when necessary. Oversee and develop athletics marketing assistant director, robust marketing internship program and gameday staff; serve as department liaison with Holy Cross spirit groups (pep band, cheerleaders, dance team). Manage and monitor annual marketing budget. Collaborate with Crusader Sports Properties on in-game sponsor activation. Oversee and grow the Crusader Kids’ Club. Oversees overall ticket office operations, ensuring compliance with the College, Patriot League, Atlantic Hockey, NCAA rules and regulations, as well as state, federal laws, policies, and regulations. Other marketing and fan engagement responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; 2-4 years of experience in a sports or entertainment field, directly related to the responsibilities described. Previous experience in professional or intercollegiate athletics environment required (previous internship applicable). Ability to take complex ideas and present them in a manner that is easy to consume and share. Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve departmental goals. Knowledge of current and emerging marketing practices, concepts, principles, methodology and techniques. Experience designing and executing print, digital and broadcast advertising campaigns. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Ability to work well with a wide range of individuals and organizations within a diverse community. Strong quantitative analytical ability. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
