JOB SUMMARY The Director, Marketing Analytics plays an instrumental role in the development and execution of analysis to help drive business and customer value for Marriott. The Director operates with considerable independence, developing strategies to deliver information and knowledge for action, while managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders and being hands on developing projects. The Director will also play a key leadership role on the team providing guidance and support to more junior resources on the team. This position is part of the broader ISA Customer, Digital and Marketing Analytics team, which is charged with developing and utilizing state-of-the-art analytic approaches and generates business intelligence about customer attitudes and behaviors across all customer-facing touch points along the B2C customer journeys CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferably in a quantitative discipline (statistics, engineering, operations research, mathematics, etc.) required. MBA or advanced degree in professional studies, operations research, applied mathematics, finance, economics, etc., preferred. 6+ years of professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance in analytically driven organizations 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the area of marketing and media analytics with a Deep understanding of digital marketing and media landscape, attribution, identity management and CRM Experience working in B2C environments with hands-on expertise in customer modeling and analytics preferred Demonstrated analytical ability with strong knowledge of data modeling and statistical analysis techniques, and ability to synthesize and analyze large volumes of complex information from multiple sources is required. Experience mining large data sets and synthesize insights and consolidate into stellar visualizations. Demonstrated success with data exploration skills, and mining billions of records Experience with the following tools required Hive, Spark Tableau, R Shiny, D3 Git, Jira MS Office; including PowerPoint, Word, Excel Discipline Expertise Experience developing and implementing attribution and marketing mix models Proficient with DOE and A/B and multivariate testing Experience with digital marketing platforms including Google, Campaign Manager, AdWords, SA 360, GA 360 is a plus Experience with Adobe set of marketing tools such as Adobe Campaign, Audience Management, Analytics is a plus Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to synthesize and analyze large volumes of complex information from multiple sources Experience analyzing customer behavior and profiles, building propensity models; audience development for targeting Ability to execute advanced analytic tasks (including but not limited to modeling, segmentation, DOE, forecasting, etc.) and create meaningful analytical outputs Professional hands-on experience with statistical modeling, data mining, and advanced segmentation using large databases Proven experience influencing a business or marketing strategy through the application and/or management of advanced statistical techniques and data driven solutions CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Supporting Marketing Analytics Priorities Align with Global Marketing’s top priorities, leading ongoing check points to ensure impact is maximized Provide leadership, advisory and consulting support on data needs and projects Provide oversight and management of media agencies and other marketing partners on data science, reporting & analytics related projects Increase custom analytics to better understand marketing targets leveraging both Marriott data and also, from third party data providers Build and deploy propensity models to better engage and target customers across channels in a highly personalized and segment-relevant manner. Develop advanced measurement models and capabilities, by leveraging best in class methodologies (advanced attribution models, media mix models) Play the consulting role and work in close coordination with the marketing teams and other areas of the business to socialize analytics and insights and partner with enabling activation plans. Communicate and present test results, insights, and recommendations to all levels of the company, clearly and concisely.
