Position Summary:

Trinity College seeks a Director of Arts Programming and Marketing who demonstrates experience in arts management, programming, and marketing for diverse academic and regional audiences. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Vice President for Strategic Marketing and Communications, and in collaboration with the Director of Production, the Director of Arts Programming and Marketing will manage the programming and communications for the guest artist, academic, and co-curricular calendar associated with the Austin Arts Center and the arts departments at Trinity (Music, Theater and Dance, Studio Arts). In addition to celebrating its bicentennial in 2023-2024, Trinity is experiencing an exciting moment of renewal in the arts and is looking for a highly motivated individual to help strengthen our operations and programming into the future. Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the Austin Arts Center guest artist series; sourcing talent, contracts, promotional material, and rider fulfillment.
Facilitate the College arts planning process in collaboration with Trinity’s Urban/Global Arts Initiative; convening groups across campus, seeking out and establish interdisciplinary connections.
Develop and maintain the Austin Arts Center production calendar in collaboration with the Performing Arts Chairs and the Director of Production and field requests for use of Austin Arts Center spaces.
Create marketing plans to promote departmental and Austin Arts Center programs and events; write, edit, and manage the production and distribution of all print and digital promotional materials including but not limited to press releases, printed programs, posters, email newsletters, webpage updates, audition notices, social media, etc.
Manage front of house operations; recruiting, training, and supervising of the front of house student crew including ushers, box office, and volunteers.
Onsite position with flexible hours, including some required nights and weekends for performances.
Other duties as needed.

Qualifications :

Three to five years experience in performing arts programming, event planning, arts management, and communications.
Experience in a leadership role with supervisory responsibilities required.

Bachelor’s degree and five to eight years experience preferred.
Previous experience working in higher education or professional arts environment preferred.
