Job Description 
Summary/objective
The Digital Marketing Manager assists the Director of Marketing & Communications with all marketing efforts with an emphasis on the development of strategic digital marketing programs which meet the Objectives and Tactics of the annual Sales and Marketing Plan including advertising, targeted ad word, SEO, website, e-mail and promotional campaigns for consumer as well as convention/meeting and sports projects.
Core Job Elements:

Primary liaison with various contracted website management provider(s) to ensure the optimum operation of VisitWinstonSalem.com Monitors VWS’s website for accuracy, content, images, and timelines of materials and performs necessary updates daily.
Work in collaboration with website developers to manage SEM, SEO programs consistent with VWS’s destination marketing objectives.
Monitors VWS’s website for accuracy, content, images and timeliness of materials and perform necessary updates. Simpleview CRM liaison/trainer, Drupal and WordPress proficient
Work in concert with communications manager to create and curate fresh, compelling content, blogs and articles to improve SEO.
Works effectively as part of a Marketing and Communications team to communicate, coordinate, integrate and apply best practices in across website, social media, promotions, public relations and digital and print advertising.
Assists with the development of promotional programs to attract users to the website, with primary responsibility for the technical aspects of program implementation.
Prepares monthly Google analytics and website performance reports. Create strategies based on analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage website and the database that drives it.
Coordinate new, fresh content and the management of all content.
Maximize website performance, content accuracy, consumer engagement and SEO.
Manage any/all website vendors, builders and consultants.
Work with Tourism Industry partners with interest/concerns on the technical elements of the Visit W-S website.
Collaborate with Visit W-S team members on integrated projects as directed by the DoMC
Adapt to new direction and requests for assistance from the DoMC and/or CEO to perform other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred background, knowledge and/or skills

A proven track record of successful media pitching and creative campaign development and an understanding of news.
An ability to track news, events and competitors and identify media opportunities in real-time.
A strong understanding of best practices for social media, influencer engagement, content campaigns, and media coverage amplification.
Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical.
Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve within tight.
Multi-tasking problem solver with attention to detail, tone, and context.

Travel required

Up to 3 trips per year for professional development, marketing and/or public relations related activities.
Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license to perform deliveries and other job functions involving transportation.

Work environment
This job operates in an administrative office collocated with the Visit Winston-Salem Visitor Center in downtown Winston-Salem.
Position Type/Expected Hours of work
This is a full-time position.  Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
  Required education and/or experience

Four-year college degree preferred, Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum (5) years related experience in hospitality, marketing, advertising, sales and/or customer service.
Minimum (2) years of public relations, advertising/media agency or content management experience.
