Columbia, South Carolina, Classification Title: Public Information Director II College/Division: Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support Department: SAAS Undergraduate Admissions Advertised Salary Range: $50,833-$72,440 Advertised Job Summary: The Creative Director is responsible for working with the Sr. Associate Director for Marketing and Special Events to translate marketing and recruiting strategies into creative strategies, and overseeing the creation, execution, delivery, and evaluation of all creative projects requested by Undergraduate Admissions and campus partners. The position is also responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the Creative Team and ensuring that visual communication standards are met across multiple print and digital platforms, and among multiple audiences (prospective, admitted, and enrolled students, parents, counselors/influencers, and departments). The Creative Director directly supervises a Creative Team consisting of five full-time staff members, ranging from Assistant Directors to Managers and Coordinators. The position also indirectly supervises 5-7 marketing and design interns supervised by the Creative Team. In addition to directing this team, the Creative Director serves as an individual content contributor spanning multiple platforms (print, email, web, video, CRM portal, social, virtual, and advertising, among others). The position works directly with the university’s third-party search vendor and other technology and agency vendors on creative content for multiple channels and multiple audiences, from middle and high school students and their families to counselors and other influencers. The position also collaborates with University Communications, as needed, to expand reach through various platforms including print, video, web, and social media. Additionally, the position leads focus groups and supports the Associate Director of Marketing Technology and Development with monitoring and tracking the effectiveness of all deliverables, direct competitor marketing and communications, and current marketing trends in and outside of the higher education industry. As a member of the management team in Undergraduate Admissions, the Creative Director participates in the strategic and tactical decisions for the office and supports Admissions and Enrollment Management in reaching vital enrollment goals. The Creative Director may be asked to review applicants for admissions and requires some evening and weekend work. This position also has the opportunity for a flexible work schedule. Advertised Minimum Qualifications : Master’s degree and 2 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience.
