Gainesville, Florida, The Stephen C. O’Connell Center is seeking a Box Office and Marketing Manager to join our exciting environment. This position will report to the Center’s Associate Director and the Marketing and Communications Specialist. They will support the marketing and box office functions of the department. This position will be responsible for the direct managerial oversight of the O’Connell Center’s ticket sellers. The O’Connell Center is a multipurpose facility that hosts some of the nation’s top intercollegiate athletic events, entertainment, community, and University related activities. The O’Connell Center has 19 full-time employees, and as many as 500 part-time student employees. Job Duties: Manage day to day box office operations and ticket sales through the entire transaction process for both the O’Connell Center and other University Box Office clients. Act as liaison with ticketing clients and ticket purchasers to handle customer questions/situations as they occur. Act as an additional back up to the Associate Director as a liaison to O’Connell Center promoters for ticketing needs and event set-up on the Center’s ticketing platform. Support the creative team charged with marketing and promoting events, the venue, and the venue’s clients with the ultimate goal of increased event attendance and improved customer service. Assist with the creation and execution of the social media plan for both the Center and the Center’s clients. Provide creative materials for all social media efforts. Supervise the assigned staff efficiently, balancing their time between the ticketing transactions and sales/PR/group sales initiatives, as appropriate.
Will be responsible for contributing to the sound fiscal management of the department. Manage a department budget and the managerial reporting for all functions of the Audience Development team. Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures that provide internal controls that will reduce the risks associated with cash handling and credit card processing. Meet all PCI compliance concerns. Oversee all transactions to ensure accurate accounting. Prepare the daily deposits for the University Box Office (UBO) for cash, credit card, and ACH/EFT transactions. Work diligently to manage expenses and look for creative but low or no-cost ways to increase the Center’s marketing efforts. Recruit, hire, train, evaluate and provide daily supervision for the employees of the O’Connell Center Box Office team in order to provide both excellent customer service through the ticket transactions as well as work to expand the patron base through marketing efforts. This includes student managers, part time student employees, and interns.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and Marketing and Communications Specialist including but not limited to policy manual updates, specialized research and other special projects.

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior box office or marketing management experience, proficient computer skills, excellent people skills, and knowledge of or willingness to learn Ticketmaster Classic, the ticketing system utilized by the SCOC, are highly desirable.
