Ashburnham, Massachusetts, Cushing Academy seeks to hire an Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to begin on August 15, 2022.  The Associate Director will develop and design social media campaigns and marketing material, manage and implement website and communication updates, and ensure consistency of brand messaging in all communications in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Associate Head of School.
This is an in-person role that requires solid design and writing skills. Room and board is available for interested candidates, as well as assistant coaching opportunities. 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media: Maintain, develop, and optimize Cushing Academy’s social media platform strategies to drive growth, traffic, and engagement. In addition to creating organic social and video content across various platforms, the Associate Director will provide tools and training for faculty, coaches, and Academy departments to produce social content on sub-accounts that can be leveraged by main accounts. 
Graphic Design: Design print and digital advertisements, handbooks, brochures, programs, schedules, forms, campus signage, and other collateral materials for the Academy. 
Website + Email: Responsible for the production, modification, and maintenance of Cushing websites. In addition, the Associate Director will design and format email communications and build online forms and surveys as needed.

Three+ years of experience in design, marketing, social media, or related fields are required. 
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Solid understanding of graphic design, with an eye for typography, composition, layout, color, and attention to detail. 
Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; video editing is a plus but not required.
Ability to discuss creative ideas and implement them within the required specification.
Ability to handle a high volume of projects while meeting tight deadlines.
Capable of accepting creative direction and working in a team environment.
Independent/boarding school experience is preferred but not required.
