Nashville, Tennessee, Description The Associate Athletics Director for Marketing is responsible for the overall development and implementation of short and long-term marketing strategies for Vanderbilt Athletics. This position will be a key member of the external unit that will work collaboratively to increase brand awareness, fan engagement, and ticket sales. Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity, character, sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conference’s only private school. The university fields 16 varsity teams (6 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams, a total of 351 student athletes), 14 of which compete in the Southeastern Conference. Duties and Responsibilities Spearheads planning, development, and implementation of short and long-term marketing strategies for Vanderbilt Athletics as a whole, as well as individual athletics teams Work collaboratively with other external units to create and implement strategies related to marketing, branding, digital media content, fan engagement, and sales Establish program objectives, develop integrated strategies, and provide seamless execution of campaigns and projects to achieve revenue objectives, brand awareness, and increased engagement Define key metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives; utilize reporting, develop insights, and communicate strategies Responsible for campus marketing, outreach, and partnerships Provide strategic direction and oversee execution of marketing and outreach plans that promote campus participation Conceptualizes and oversees the creation of all marketing materials (i.e. print, digital) Develop programming to include videoboard content, pyrotechnics, on-field/court recognitions, halftime shows, sponsor activations, in-game promotion, fan contests and other entertainment elements Responsible for creative planning and execution of photo and video shoots Plan and execute in-game production for assigned sports; oversee implementation of in-game production for all other sports Oversee band and spirit programs, including Spirit of Gold Marching Band, cheer and dance teams, mic men, and mascot programs Manage applicable department budgets Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Fan Experience and Sales Supervisory Relationships This position does have direct supervisory responsibility and reports administratively and functionally to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Fan Experience and Sales.
