Lincoln, Nebraska, Requisition Number: S_220840 Department: University Press-0933 Description of Work: The Journals division at the University of Nebraska Press is seeking an Assistant Marketing Manager-Journals. The assistant manager is responsible for the management and execution of promotional strategies for thirty-four titles as well as for customer service and fulfillment of the journals. The goal is to grow UNP’s journals profile through strategic promotional activities, such as advertising, publicity, exhibits, and website and to increase awareness, visibility, submissions, usage, and revenue. This position supervises and trains, as needed, the Marketing Associate and Fulfillment Associate and reports to the Journals Marketing and Fulfillment Manager. Proven work experience in social media marketing or knowledge of online marketing and understanding of major marketing online platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel). Experience with presentation and design tools (i.e., InDesign) and databases. Willingness to learn new software systems. Customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects, including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Attention to detail. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in a publishing environment. Supervisory experience. Ability to proofread. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite products, especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Experience with WordPress-based websites.
