Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Assistant Director of Marketing assists the Associate Director of Marketing and will coordinate and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for Penn Athletics, with a focus on ticketed sports (football, basketball, lacrosse and wrestling) and the Penn Relays to increase ticket sales, drive attendance and create a memorable and exciting fan experience. Works collaboratively with the ticket office to increase ticket sales and student attendance by a variety of digital and traditional marketing methods. Supervises part-time marketing staff, work studies, cheer, mascot and band.
Job Description


Lead the preparation and execution of game presentation plans for football, wrestling, and men’s lacrosse. Develop in-game video board content. Execute game production as the producer and technical director for assigned sports, this includes running the video board at home events. Train staff to execute game production at Rhodes Field, The Palestra and Franklin Field. Represent marketing at game operations meetings. Develop ticket sales strategies for assigned sports. Assist in developing an engaging meet presentation for The Penn Relays, this includes script writing, video board operations, meet day production and content creation. Oversee and direct game day staffing for assigned sports. Work with ANC maintenance to ensure video boards are operational for home athletic events.

Lead the preparation and execution marketing plans football, wrestling, and men’s lacrosse. Create advertising content for related marketing plans. Develop campus relationships and partnerships to assist with marketing and engagement for assigned sports. Assist with the creation and implementation of email marketing via the pacmail platform.

Assist with the maintenance of division wide branding standards. Work with facilities, equipment operations and Assistant AD of Marketing to manage branding requests and branding needs. Manage the branding request process to ensure projects are handled in a timely manner. Work with business services to ensure university and DRIA marks are used properly.

Assist in overseeing internship and work study hiring, onboarding and scheduling.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. A Bachelor’s Degree is required and 2 to 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in college or professional athletics. Experience hosting large-scale events preferred. Excellent customer service skills and strong oral and written communications skills required. ?Familiarity with intercollegiate (NCAA) events, activities, and operations preferred. Ability to comply with all NCAA/Ivy League rules and regulations. Ability and willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
