Tucson, Arizona, The University of Arizona’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an experienced sports marketing professional for the position of Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, a self-starter and organized. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing. Candidates should expect to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays based on sport competition schedules.

Serve as the marketing lead for Arizona Soccer and Arizona Women’s Basketball – including but not limited to marketing, ticket sales promotions, and game presentation.
Serve as point for Arizona football Fan Fiesta (Arizona Athletics sponsored tailgating) and on-field football liaison.
Provide leadership with other sport leads to develop, implement, and recap comprehensive marketing plans for women’s basketball, soccer.
Maintain production schedule of promotional materials including radio, tv, posters, pocket schedules, and print ads for women’s basketball, soccer.
Oversee and direct game presentation efforts including video board operations, in-game promotions, fan giveaways, presentations, sponsor fulfillment, cheerleaders and band performances, game atmosphere, and direction of interns and volunteers for women’s basketball, soccer.
Assist with the development of digital strategies for women’s basketball and soccer. including social media assistance with Assistant Director of Digital Marketing, email communication, and website management.
Work with ticket sales and analytics teams to develop revenue and attendance generation strategies for women’s basketball, soccer.
Communicate regularly with head coach of assigned sports (or an appointed staff member such as a Director of Operations).
Serve as liaison between Arizona Athletics and student interns.
Responsible for communication pertinent marketing information internally to ICA staff
Management of marketing budget for assigned sports.
Assist with the planning and implementation of special event marketing, such as pep rallies, meet the team events, and the Arizona Road Tour.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree
Three years of experience working in college athletics or professional sports marketing/communications
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
