New York, New York, Assistant Director, Fundraising and Marketing Communications Job No: 496224 Work Type: Staff Full-time Department: Institutional Advancement Location: Wilf Campus, 500 West 185th Street, NY, NY Categories: Communications/Marketing/Media Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Fundraising and Marketing Communications reports directly to the Senior Director of Fundraising & Marketing Communications with a dotted line report to the Director of Annual Fund. This position supports the research, writing, editing and production of fundraising communications. These include-but are not limited to-annual fund messaging and communications, direct donor communications, alumni and donor newsletters, and IA-related stories and blog posts as well as work on proposals, stewardship reports and other institutional advancement assets. This position will also helm the digital communications program for IA, including scheduling, process, protocol and copy/design/brand style to establish guidelines that enhance user experience and elevate professionalism. Position Responsibilities: Study and understand Yeshiva University’s history, objectives, structure, programs, financial needs and unique value proposition Research, write and organize information in a professional and credible manner, from annual fund print and digital communications to donor and impact stories to publicize the impact of philanthropy and inspire the community Manage the digital communications program for IA, including scheduling, process, protocol and copy/design/brand style and work with team to ensure process and compliance Write and lay out emails in communications platform of record (currently Anthology/iModules) and secure necessary approvals Edit and revise copy according to feedback Proofread and copy edit Conduct interviews Maintain consistency in communications by following YU style, branding and policy guidelines Work with the design team to create graphics and visuals for projects Experience & Education Background: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or related field preferred Relevant experience in long-form writing and other communications/messaging Previous experience in fundraising messaging and proposal writing is advantageous Experience with iModules preferred Strong project management skills Skills & Competencies: Skills & Competencies: Expert written and verbal communication skills Strong research skills Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and integrity Well-organized, flexible and detail and deadline oriented Strong knowledge of MS Office About Us: Founded in 1886, Yeshiva University (YU) has a strong tradition of combining Jewish scholarship with academic excellence and achievement in the liberal arts, sciences, medicine, law, business, social work, Jewish studies, education, psychology, and more.
