Chicago, Illinois, Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: Creates and copy edits content that brings Chicago Boothâ™s student/alumni experience to life in real and meaningful ways (e.g., interviews, blogs, newsletters, emails, videos, infographics, social media, and other long/short form communications). Authors and coordinates articles for the Admissions Blog. Management and editorial oversight of Admissions Blog content from external contributors (staff, research centers, faculty, alumni, and freelancers). Assists with oversight of Student blog. Assists in development and execution of the annual marketing/communication calendar and CRM management. Goal is to increase awareness, engagement, and conversion activities. Implements marketing strategies and upholds unique brand positioning (voice, tone, messaging) across all customer journey communications and nurture campaigns. Assists in managing the annual marketing/communication advertising budget; secures budget approval and manage effectively in line with objectives. Implements branded messaging through all content to ensure the consumer voice and relevant brand components are accurately and consistently represented across Booth channels. Evolves content for growing Gen Z audience. Partners with internal stakeholders to increase engagement with key audience segments; develops and assists in leading initiatives to support new and ongoing strategies and tactics. Supports efforts to test, track, and provide insights into the funnel activities that drive key audience segments; evaluates and makes recommendations for platform, communications, list buying, advertising, partnerships, etc. Develops a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, top competitor brand positioning, key messages, and industry trends. Monitors competitive presence and industry trends across various message boards, business newsletters, prospect communications, and social media. Conducts MBA recruitment and yield activities. Duties include being on call to field in-person inquiries, conducting presentations, travel, and mentoring graduate Admissions Fellows. Performs one or more of the following marketing functions: marketing communications /advertising; Web blogs or digital marketing; market research; development or review and update of the marketing infrastructure and management of external sales agency relationships. May train the work of lower level marketing staff. Performs other related work as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelorâ™s degree in journalism, marketing, business, communications, or related area. Experience: A minimum two years of experience in marketing, communications, or other related area. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Familiarity with marketing analytics, content management systems, and/or CRM systems. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred Competencies Proficiency with business writing skills and good creative writing skills. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as organizational skills. Work independently with little supervision; possess a self-motivated disposition; identify opportunities for improvement and recommend effective changes, all while achieving key objectives resulting in desired outcomes. Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, relationship building, and persuasion skills. Handle multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, faculty, and corporate contacts in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone. Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach. Working Conditions This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
